Ecologie du copépode calanoïde Paracartia grani. Implication dans le cycle de vie du parasite Marteilia refringens dans la lagune de Thau ArchiMer

In this study, the life cycle of Paracartia grani, a calalloid copepod belonging to the Acartiidae family was determined in Thau lagoon. Indeed, the copepod involvement in the life cycle of the parasite Marteilia refringens affecting the bivalve productions is suspected. Mesozooplanktonic community .was monitored twice a month. over two years at a fixed station in the lagoon. Sampling has identified P. grani as the acartiid dominant species in summer. From April to January, the copepod is found in the water column while from February to early April it remains in the sediment as diapausing eggs. The analysis of the population structure (size spectmm, contribution of developmental stages and sex ratio) has revealed that there are in between 6 and 9...

Etude sanitaire de la zone n° 34.39 "Lotissements conchylicoles de la lagune de Thau" Groupe III. Département de l'Hérault ArchiMer

L’étude de zone des lotissements conchylicoles de la lagune de Thau (34.39) a été menée, à la demande du Comité Régional de la Conchyliculture en Méditerranée et du préfet de l’Hérault, pour étudier la possibilité de sectoriser la zone de production en sous-zones, au regard du risque microbiologiques (REMI). Une étude de dossier a été réalisée afin de recenser les principales sources de contamination. Celles-ci sont essentiellement d’origine anthropique et impactent différemment les secteurs envisagés. Des prélèvements de coquillages du groupe 3 ont été réalisés de mai 2017 à mai 2018 avec une fréquence bimensuelle. In the first volume dystrophie crisis in the Thau lagoon since 1969 are described. In the second volume, meteorological parameters (temperature, wind, atmospheric pressure) are compared during the dystrophie crisis to show if either one or several parameters could explain the emergence of these phenomena . It seems that only a mathematical model could be able to give explanation.

The monitoring network IFREMER/REMORA in Thau lagoon is assessing, on a yearly basis, mortality, growth and quality criteria distributed among 6 stations. Samplings are carried out in March, June, September and December. 2003 is a year with a very important mortality in Mèze and Marseillan area due to an anoxy and an anormal mortality at Bouzigues Nord in december. The growth rate is always better than others French oysters areas. Afnor index is high (beetwen 13.7 and 16.5 in december), so the totality of the oysters are classifed in "Spéciales". Polydora sp. Index is important but the initial stock was first infected. The valve quality is good, with no gelatine, except on Bouzigues South.

This report presents the main results for 2002 of the eight points in the Lagune de Thau, in accordance with the monitoring network REMORA: 3 national points and 5 regional added by the «Laboratoire Conchylicole de Méditerranée». Only adults batch is observed in the Mediterranean sea. This year the mortality ratio is low (< 5 %), without significant differences between areas. Like for the whole national network, the average individual weight are less than previous years in Bouzigues and Marseillan area ; in opposite Mèze area has better results. Bouzigues area presents the best productivity rate (3.1) and the worst in the middle of the zone. The AFNOR index, calculed in December, allows to classify the oysters like "spéciales". The yearly shellfish harvest on Thau lagoon (75 km2) is about 13 000 tons of oysters and 4 000 tons of mussels, and represents 10% of French shellfish harvest. In the microbiological monitoring network of French shellfish harvest areas, managed by Ifremer, a total of 2 374 shellfish samples were collected on Thau lagoon and analysed (Escherichia coli) on 9 sampling stations between 1997 and 2006. Despite a population increasing rate of 15.6% between 1999 and 2006 on the Thau lagoon watershed, the shellfish faecal contamination level is stable between 1997 and 2006, and corresponds to B sanitary standard, authorizing marketing for human consumption after purification.
